Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a Canadian-American comedian as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara has received a variety of awards including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also won two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In the year 2018, she was appointed an Officer of Canada and in 2020, she was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara made her name as an actress as a member in 1974 of The Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe based in Toronto. She was a part of the principal cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) alongside John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara and Candy began work on Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for Outstanding Writing for Variety Series. O'Hara joined the Second City artistic advisory board in 2022. She was joined by Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert and Tina Fey.
